Kieron James, Zimo Communications Ltd

Kieron James

Kieron has a proven track record within leading edge B2B, IT, retail and commercial market sectors. With strong leadership, strategic marketing and business development experience, he is results oriented with significant business infrastructure planning skills. Kieron has founded and developed several start-ups and held key positions in larger organisations.

In 1997 he established Da Vinci Design and Publishing Ltd - a business which he successfully grew and sold - before accepting the position of Business Development Director at Domainnames.com. Kieron was promoted to Region Manager, Latin America at Domainnames.com in 2000 prior to the company's acquisition by VeriSign Inc. He later returned to Europe where we took up the position of European Business Development Director for VeriSign and subsequently Managing Director for VeriSign in the UK, assuming overall operational and strategic control of the business.

He founded Zimo Communications in February 2005, was appointed Chair of the FCS Numbering Group in 2006 and has represented the industry in many consultation meetings and in the preparation of documents for industry regulators Ofcom and PhonepayPlus.

 

Martyn King, Zimo Communications Ltd

Martyn King

Martyn joined Zimo early in 2008, bringing vast experience gained over 25 years in the telecommunications industry. His ground-up career development started from a switching and transmission background as an engineer in BT during the 1980s.

On leaving BT, he gained digital switching, transmission and submarine cable engineering skills in Cable & Wireless (Mercury) during the early to mid 1990's. On leaving Cable & Wireless he developed his career into senior technical, service and network management positions with NTL and Ionica with key focus on delivering cable TV and telephony network architecture and centralised network management of switching and fixed radio access networks respectively.

His senior management positions held within the last 8 years include responsibility for all core technical and service management teams for Redstone Telecom, and from 2001 he joined Band-X Ltd (now Invomo), where he held the position of CTO and Operations Director, and was responsible for the development and deployment of the company's VoIP strategy.

 

Gerard Callaghan, Zimo Communications Ltd

Gerard Callaghan

Gerard was a founder member of the Leighton Group in 1992 having previously worked in business consulting for a variety of organisations. During 1992-1997 Gerard held a number of senior positions within the Leighton Group, managing several projects and products.

During 1997 Gerard became CEO of Domainnames.com a company created by Leighton to exploit the growing demand in domain name registration and related services. This company grew rapidly, and by 2000 had sales and customer service centres in North and South America, Australia, the Far East and Europe.

During late 2000 Leighton entered into a trade sale of the company Domainnames.com to VeriSign Inc., the world's largest domain registrar and leading software security company. After the disposal of Domainnames.com to VeriSign, Gerard was appointed as the Managing Director of Mass Markets for VeriSign within Europe.

He rejoined the Leighton Group in the autumn of 2002 and operated as Commercial Director and General Manager for 4Projects Ltd., a company specialising in the development of secure collaborate software for the Construction Sector. Gerard was an original investor in 4Projects and left the company in 2006 following a takeover of the organisation by a Private equity Company.

In addition to Gerard's responsibility for Zimo's financial management, Gerard is an investor in the company. He has vast experience of forming and growing new businesses, mergers and acquisitions within the IT sector. Gerard has spent time working in North America and UK, has a degree in Economics and an MSc. in Software Engineering.
